Delicious buffet. I loved all the food.. fried chicken, collard greens, sweet potatoes and the peach cobbler was to die for!

I had the pleasure of dealing with Dale and Eleanor, the owners, wonderful people who provide a great service and excellent food. All staff were very friendly. Will definitely stop in again when in the area.

My cousin and I were on our way home from a mini vacation in the Outer Banks. We were starving and discovered the Hitch-N-Post while looking for another restaurant. Boy am I happy we stopped here. The food is fabulous and the staff is very friendly. I just wish they were not 4 hours away. I would go often.If you are able to stop in for lunch you will not be disappointed. My cousin is going to shoot me for posting her picture. Lol

Order off menu Trout it has a different taste couldn't eat it so got chicken off the buffet instead of cooking me some were not please but the waitress was nice but not planning on returning but never no may ride with someone else who determine too.

Pretty good place for home cooked comfort food. I would recommend the buffet. However the plates from the menu are good too. Salad bar, fried chicken, butterbeans, and bbq pork all good buffet items. A nice stop off US-64 between Raleigh and the beach.

Food was ok but really expensive. Most seafood places aren't that high.

Great food. Large country style buffet with seafood on Friday's. On our way through on 64E and stopped for a quick bite. Kids under 6 eat free. There is a menu to order from if you don't want the buffet.

The food was good, but they get three stars because they went up on the price today, saying it was the Holliday price. They had that info on a small sign that you will not see if you come in for buffet. It would have been nice if they would tell you before they seat you, that the prices are higher today. I will not be eating there around any more Holliday's. I thought the regular price was already too high.

Delicious food and atmosphere. We always see someone we know on most visits. Saw friends from Rocky Mount during this visit.

The have a great breakfast buffet at a very reasonable price... though the coffee is a little weak.

First visit there with friends. Friday night buffet was well worth the price. We got there right at 5:00 pm. Food was fresh and hot. Old time country cookin' at it's best. We will definitely be back to the Hitch-N Post.

Overall. Food was very good. I think the price is somewhat expensive especially for children's buffet. 4 teas including 2 children were over 7 dollars.

Food good. Waiter needs alot more training. Didn't check if steak was good. Had to ask for water and had to ask for the check. He was nice, just inefficient

Went there for a Christmas party. Wait staff didn't have their act together. No one got their drink orders at the same time-some had to be asked for 3 times. Did not check back often enough for refills-we had to go after her or ask other wait staff entering the room. Food was very good.

This is one of our "go-tos" for Sunday brunch. I can say they have some of the best fried chicken I've every had. All of the other dishes are also typically very good and they generally taste like home cooking. Pretty good desserts as well. Do yourself a favor and bring your appetite!

My son and I just stopped in for a salad. Everything was very fresh, and the whole bar was full. The waitress was very friendly and right on time. I'd recommend stopping here! We enjoyed our lunch!

The food and atmosphere was great, but the waitress acted like she was afraid to communicate with us. We waited for an unusual amount of time for our food. I called the waitress to ask about our food and she replied, "there was a mix up with your order". Communication is important with the customer.

Over rated and OVER PRICED. 2 buffets cost us over $33.00. The fried chicken was ok but that was about it for me. Golden Corral charges about half with twice the menu. Just not a lot to choose from at all. The place was clean and the waitresses did all they could for us. It was either the management or ownership or maybe both. Don’t think we’ll be back.

We love this family style restaurant. We try to stop in whenever we have appts in Greenville & are on our way back to the OBX.

Really enjoyed our meal off the menu and looking forward to trying the buffet another time, as there was no buffet the evening we visited. Good food and prices, nice people.

Visited Hitching Post for first time 3 hours ago. The food was delicious which much to choose from. I didn't like their deserts.They had no taste,need to put emphasis on the desserts no one was eating them.Please improve desert s to compliment your good food.

Stopped here like many I'm sure on the way to the outerbanks. We stopped on a Sunday afternoon and had the all you can eat buffet. I'll be honest on the first run of the buffet I was disappointed at the size if the buffet itself. I got some fried chicken and mash potatoes and was BLOWN AWAY! Second/third/fourth run I tried everything else out and loved most if not all of it. I believe this place goes with a quality over quantity approach and you can really tell! Will be stopping here again!
